Longeye is an AI platform for investigators that analyses digital evidence and links every finding back to its source. Founded in 2025 and backed by a16z's American Dynamism Fund, it is used by around 35 US law enforcement agencies.
Key Technology Insights
Longeye pre-loads case context, then analyses video, audio and text far faster than a human, surfacing relevant material and connecting associated evidence to prove or disprove given hypotheses. Every sentence of Longeye reporting links, in one click, to the original admissible evidence, and source files are never altered. The analysis models work out of the box and require no training on customer data. Core analysis is live; patrol report writing remains in beta.
Industry Application
US police investigation is the most mature application of the platform: agencies process jail calls, cell phone extractions and social media returns and have demonstrated breakthroughs on cold cases. The platform also offers GPS timeline mapping, link graphs, and video search via a simple chat function. Output reporting is in standardised formatting for disclosure bundling for prosecutors /defenders, or executive briefings or case management, for example.
Strategic Perspective
Longeye attacks a structural bottleneck at the heart of modern criminal investigation: 70% of investigators report lacking the time to review all the digital evidence in their caseload. Longeye does not do predictive policing, keeping the platform firmly in the "investigative tool" category rather than the more ethically contested "surveillance" space.
