Overview

Matroid is a computer vision company with a no-code platform for analysing visual media, from cameras to satellite. Founded in 2016 by Stanford's Reza Zadeh, it serves defence, government and industry.​

Users create "detectors" to find things from a plain-English description or a couple of examples, with no coding or training, live in minutes, unlike models needing labelled training data. Defence and manufacturing are the most mature in adopting the software. In defence, Matroid analyses satellite imagery for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), aircraft sensors, base change detection and border feeds.
